Reverse Osmosis Plant Servicing PDF Print E-mail

It is vital to correctly service Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants to ensure they run effectively and produce the all-important water requirements your company demands! For example, it is not all that difficult to do extensive damage to the RO membranes in a relatively short period of time.

Salt Separation Services have a team of specialist service engineers, who can draw on years of knowledge and experience with both our own and other manufacturers RO plants, to ensure they run correctly and to prevent unnecessary failures which could result in the loss of water production with the associated consequences this may entail.

The key benefits of using Salt Separation Services engineers for your RO plant servicing are:

  • Early detection of faults before they become apparent to the operator or become worse.
  • Prevention of equipment failure by detailed inspection, calibration and function testing.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and fault finding on the RO plant.
  • Notice and suggest the need for improvement in either production or efficiency of the plant.
  • Undertake operator training to build up the knowledge of the RO plant operator.
  • Quality Management System fully in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001:2008.
  • Extensive range of support spares and consumables available.
  • Use of calibrated and traceable test instrumentation and equipment.

Skid Mounted Packages PDF Print E-mail

Salt Separation Services are able to package process plants based on a client’s design.

Products types include filtering, desalination, water purification, UV disinfection, chemical dosing and any application where there is a combination of vessels, valving, piping, pumps, instrumentation, controls and filters, in order to avoid the high costs of site assembly and ensure we meet our high quality standards.

All types of process plant can be skid-mounted, which makes installation easy and reduces the requirement for on-site fabrication. With a fully welded construction, our package units can be purpose-produced to all industries according to individual customer specifications. We liaise closely with our clients to ensure that we fulfil all requirements. Maximum dimensions are metres wide by metres long per section, and up to 10 tonnes in weight.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) can be carried out on all products before despatch, including Leak Testing, Hydrostatic Pressure Testing, Load Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Positive Material Identification and Radiography.

Products can be finished using a range of techniques which include shot and bead blasting, polishing, painting, pickling and passivating, FBE coating and rubber lining.

Salt Separation Services can supply a skid package design service which will give clients a range of options including the incorporation and calculation of piping systems, vessel fabrication, pneumatic and electrical systems, instrumentation and insulation, as well as performance/function testing.

ATEX (EXD) Smoke Detection System PDF Print E-mail

We have recently designed and commissioned a hazardous area (Zone 2, IIB, T3 classification) smoke detection system which has been integrated with one of our containerised hire plants. The plant capable of producing up to 100 m3/d of potable water, is on a North Sea oil platform. The plant is located in a non‐hazardous area of the platform however our client requested a system to interrupt the plant power supply on detection of smoke within the container as an added safety measure. The detection system itself remains safe and operational even if a hazardous environment develops.

The Zone 2 system consists of two flameproof (Ex d) enclosures housing a fire panel, isolation barriers (for the intrinsically safe smoke detector heads) and control equipment. Although using a standard industrial fire panel housed within a flameproof enclosure, the fire panel can be operated remotely from controls mounted in one of the flameproof enclosure doors. On detection of smoke the system will cut power to the plant and provide visual and audible warnings via a flameproof (Ex d) flashing beacon and siren.
