Based in Rochdale (close to Manchester), UK, Salt Separation Services provides engineered water treatment solutions to a worldwide market. Established in 1990, Salt Separation Services is a privately owned company with BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Assurance accreditation. From its very beginning, Salt Separation Services has gained a reputation for manufacturing high quality reliable equipment coupled with excellent spares and service support.
In the offshore oil and gas industry, we have provided new plants for BP Amoco, Shell, Elf, Total, BHP Petroleum and others. In addition, we have upgraded many older packages in-situ. Salt Separation Services has more than ten engineers with offshore survival certification – this enables us to mobilise at short notice to provide offshore servicing and technical support.
Over the last ten years, we have supplied in excess of forty plants to the Royal Navy for fresh water and technical water production on-board mine-hunters, frigates, destroyers, aircraft carriers and auxiliary vessels. During this period, we have also designed and manufactured specialist chemical dosing equipment for chlorine dosing and evaporator antiscalant dosing on board Royal Naval vessels.
At the same time, we have upgraded / refurbished / overhauled in excess of fifty RO desalination plants during ship upkeep / refit periods – many of these were originally supplied by other manufacturers.
We also provide the Royal Navy with full spares and consumables support, as well as technical support, both on-site and from the office. Having a team of highly skilled specialist engineers gives us the flexibility to deal with their varied demands at short notice.
Some of the largest plants we have manufactured are for industrial applications in fields as diverse as beverage production, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical and aviation.
